Happy New Year! I love the holiday season, but honestly, I'm not sad to see them go. Holiday parties and tempting treats tend to get old after a while and I am ready to get back on track with no distractions (hopefully you're with me.)
Whether or not you're the type to make a new years resolution, there is never a bad time to make the decision to live a healthier lifestyle. Luckily, around the first of the year, there are some great deals out there by local gyms and health food stores as well as tips, articles and info galore to get you informed and going on the right foot toward cleaning things up.
Here's my tip: Feed your body
We have all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but do you know why? After waking up from an 8 hour (hopefully) slumber we need to BREAK the FAST that our body has slipped into over night. By having breakfast, this will rev up your metabolism and help you to start burning fat through out the day. When you don't eat, your body holds onto fat in order to survive because it thinks it is starving. It sounds tricky, but you must eat in order to lose.
Everyday as soon as I wake up I always have a protein shake made with PROACTION protein. Chocolate is my favorite flavor, but vanilla and strawberry are super tasty too. With only 130 calories and 22 grams of protein this is the BEST choice you can make to break the over night fast. PROACTION mixes and tastes great with any beverage, but I like to be creative and mix it in with coffee in the morning, its a healthy version of a mocha and its a great way to change things up from your normal cup of joe.
